MGF and TF both use an 85amp output alternator to maintain the electrical systems stability. The battery on the few non EPAS MGFs is often quoted as applying to the cars with EPAS and this is wrong as the EPAS MGF and TF used a much higher capacity battery usually 20% stronger in its reserve capacity at nearly 500 amp. This is because the steering can drain a fully charged battery in about 25 miles of driving in dry daylight conditions if the alternators output fails.
