Brightware is the chromework, polished metalwork and decorative trim that gives a classic MG its character. The Brightware catalogue gathers every cross-model chromed and polished item into a single section, exterior items that the world sees and interior items that the driver and passenger sit alongside, and serves as the cross-reference home for the model-specific brightwork covered in each dedicated chromework section for each model.
Exterior Brightware
The exterior catalogue is led by Badges, MG hexagons, model-specific tailgate and grille badges, period dealer badges and the heritage badges that mark cars of particular provenance. Badge and Lamp Bars and Fixings carry the badges and any auxiliary driving lamps, and are stocked in stainless and chromed-steel options across the range. Bonnet Straps in leather and webbing finishes give an MGB, an MGA or a Midget the classic competition aesthetic. Petrol Caps cover the locking and non-locking, chromed-brass and polished-aluminium options across the range, including the period flip-lock Monza-style caps for cars built without an internal release.
Stoneguards protect the leading edge of headlamps and grilles against gravel and road debris. Towbars cover the bolt-on tow-hitches available for MGB, Midget and MGC GT applications, including detachable patterns for owners who want the option without permanent visual impact. Exterior Chromework covers the cross-model polished items, escutcheons, bezels and trims, that don't sit naturally in any single specific bodywork section.
Mirrors
Mirrors are stocked as a sub-section within Brightware because the range spans every era and pattern. Door and Wing Mirrors cover the bullet-style and round-stem mirrors fitted across the range, the Tex-style wing mirrors of the earlier cars, and the rectangular Vitaloni Sebring and similar period-aftermarket mirrors that many owners now consider definitive. Overtaking Mirrors, the dish-shaped, large-format mirrors fitted to the door or wing of cars used for towing or for sustained motorway driving, sit alongside the standard patterns.
Where a mirror is unique to a specific model, the chromed door mirrors fitted to the late MGB, for example, it is covered in the relevant model's brightwork section; the Accessories Mirrors section is the cross-fitment home for the universal patterns.
Aeroscreens
Aeroscreens are the small wind-deflectors fitted to early MGAs, MGTs and competition-spec cars where the full windscreen has been removed for racing or touring use. The range covers single and twin aeroscreen sets in chromed-brass and polished-aluminium finishes, with mounting hardware to suit the standard windscreen post bolt patterns.
Interior Brightware
The Interior chromework catalogue covers Cigar Lighters, Engine Bay polished items and Winder Handles. Cigar Lighters restore the period-correct dashboard fitting on cars where the original has been removed or damaged. Engine Bay brightware covers the rocker covers, oil filler caps, polished stays and chromed brackets that finish an underbonnet rebuild. Winder Handles cover the chromed and polished window-winder handles fitted across the MGB, Midget, MGA and MGC range, the same pattern serves several cars, which is why this is the cross-model home for the part rather than a individual entry under a model.
