MG has a long history of sports cars, the MGA and MGB included. The Midget, a smaller roadster built as a twin sister to the Austin Healey Sprite, offered a more affordable sports car experience. Over a 19-year life, the Midget sold over 74,000 cars worldwide, with particular success in America. Whether an early square-arch car or rubber bumper, A-Series or 1500 Triumph engine, it's one of the most popular, most iconic sports cars and remains an affordable entry point to classic car motoring. Former MG Car Club employee Jeff tells you all you need to know when buying one!

The MGB was probably always going to be a success, with gorgeous styling clothing a classic sports car formula. America loved the B in particular, but new safety regulations forced MG to add controversial rubber bumpers and raise the suspension. Did it ruin it? Jack and Joe went for a drive...

MG is arguably one of the most popular marques in the classic car world - be it a T-Type from the 1950s, Midget or MGB from the 1960s, or a more modern ZT or ZR, the Octagon has an enormous fanbase. Arguably its biggest fans are the MG Owners Club, based in Swavesey at their clubhouse, come shop, come restoration garage and workshop. This is the biggest car club we’ve ever seen and wanted to know more about what makes the MGOC community so special, so Joe and Steph from Lancaster Insurance paid a visit…

Rare, powerful and wonderful to look at and drive: The Factory MGB GT V8 is one of the unsung heroes of the 1970s British car industry. Slotting the Rover 3.5 litre engine into the MGB GT resulted in a match made in heaven - 125 mph top speed, 75% more torque than a standard MGB and an exhaust note that's guaranteed to put a smile on your face. In the end, global and internal politics brought this often overlooked V8 bruiser to an abrupt stop - with just 2,591 examples produced over 3 short years.
Today, it still punches well above its weight and prices remain strong. I've been living with this 1974 genuine factory example for a little while now, so join me as I show you what it's really like to get behind the wheel of one of the finest and most sought-after MGs ever to leave the Abingdon factory.
