MG TD & TF Electrics

Generally speaking, the TD and TF had the same electrical set up all manufactured by Lucas. A single 12V battery was mounted in an open battery box on the bulkhead. A black-painted dynamo of type C 39 PV DA41 was installed on the first TD models; later TDs and TFs had a dynamo type C 39 PV/2. The starter motor was type M 35 G/1 L3/1 and was also painted black. The TD’s headlamps were type S 700 either in chrome or painted, and sat on a painted mounted bracket fixed between the grille and wing. The TF had headlamps of type F 700 which were incorporated into the front wings.
