The MGB GT V8 had a composite alloy wheel made by Dunlop. The wheel centres where cast alloy and the rims chrome plated steel riveted to the centres. The wheels featured ten square ventilation holes with a bright alloy edge. The rim size was 5Jx14. It had four chrome plated wheels nuts around a black and silver MG logo. The same wheel was also found on the 1975 Jubilee model of the MGB GT, but the wheels were painted black and gold. (Note that the Reliant Scimitar SE6 uses very similar Dunlop composite wheels that look but are not the same, they have sharper edges to the ten vent holes and are 5.5” wide with a slightly different offset, although you will find some MGB GT V8s fitted with the Scimitar wheels.)
The MGB GT V8 was the first MGB to be fitted with tubeless tyres. Goodyear G800 Grand Prix, Michelin XAS and Pirelli CN36 tyres were all on offer in size 175HR-14.
